About
Invisalign®

Invisalign was first introduced in the United States in 1998. Since then, it has been used for orthodontic treatment to correct various types of teeth misalignments. This is made possible by using data collected over 25 years and by taking advantage of impressive advancements in technology. Thanks to Invisalign treatment, more than 10 million people all around the world have experienced the joy of achieving a beautiful smile.
Invisalign utilizes the SmartTrack material for orthodontic devices, along with SmartForce and SmartStage technologies to control tooth movement. Specifically designed to enhance the suitability of orthodontic treatment, Invisalign is a completely different approach to traditional bracket-based orthodontics. Through the integration of digital scanning, 3D printing, and other innovative techniques, Invisalign offers a unique method of orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign is flexible, comfortable to wear, and not easily noticeable, providing an aesthetically pleasing option. Additionally, it generally entails reduced discomfort compared to traditional braces.

HOW INVISALIGN®
WORKS

Invisalign is an orthodontic method that involves using clear plastic aligners, which are changed on a weekly basis to move teeth. This method offers predictable outcomes based on the ClinCheck results and requires fewer visits to the orthodontist. It also allows unrestricted food consumption unlike traditional braces and is considered more hygienic.

ADVANCED
TECHNOLOGY

The state-of-the-art iTero oral scanner, specialized for orthodontic treatment, can accurately reproduce the oral structures, including teeth and the gum. Through the ClinCheck simulation generated from iTero scan data, patients can visualize the expected outcome of final orthodontic treatment, enhancing their understanding of the process.

CASE

Invisalign, developed by Align Technology in the United States, offers various options to accommodate different malocclusions.
Invisalign Express is suitable for simple anterior teeth corrections like resolving minor gaps between teeth. Treatment is quick and cost-effective, typically completed within 7 to 14 weeks.
Invisalign Lite is commonly used for cases where malocclusion is not severe, especially for correcting misalignment of anterior teeth or cases that require minor corrections. Treatment duration usually ranges from 3 to 9 months.
Invisalign Comprehensive can be used for various severe malocclusions, involving severe crowding, severe openbites and overbites, extractions, and surgical orthodontics. There’s no limit to the number of aligners that can be ordered, making it suitable for creating comprehensive treatment plans that extend beyond just the anterior teeth to include posterior teeth as well.

Invisalign®
Questions & Answers

It depends on many factors, and your orthodontist can decide for sure.

It is normal to have a bit of irritation in your cheeks, tongue, or lips right after you start Invisalign. Your mouth is adapting to something completely new, and the soreness will go away quickly. In the meantime, we recommend a warm salt water rinse to aid in healing. You can also check the edges of your aligner to make sure they are completely smooth. If you notice any roughness, use a nail file to gently smooth out those spots. Many people also experience a bit of soreness in their teeth for a few days after each aligner change, which eases quickly.

Anytime you put something in your mouth, your muscles and nerves must get used to it. It’s possible that you may experience a slight lisp for a couple of days, but this will go away as soon as your tongue gets used to the aligner.

You can eat and drink whatever you like, and chew gum, while using aligners. However, we recommend removing your aligner for all meals and snacks, including gum, to avoid getting anything stuck to the aligner or discoloring it. Remember to brush your teeth and put the aligner back in as soon as you are finished. If removing the aligner is not practical, be sure to at least rinse both your mouth and the aligner with plain water when you are finished. Tobacco products can stain the aligners as well as your teeth. Sucking on sugar free mints, and drinking water, will not harm your aligners at all.

Call your orthodontist as soon as possible. We can order new replacement aligners, but your orthodontist will instruct you how best to proceed during the few days before they arrive.

The cost of Invisalign depends on many variables, including geographic location, the orthodontist’s skill and experience, the current condition of your teeth, and how long you will need to wear the aligners.
